WildKind creates hands-on outdoor experiences that encourage children to connect, play, challenge themselves and grow. Our programs combine nature play, practical outdoor skills, creativity, teamwork and adventure, giving children the opportunity to build confidence, independence and connection with the natural world.
Our school holiday programs are currently based at Tallebudgera Community Centre on the Gold Coast. We’re working towards expanding into other locations across the Gold Coast and Northern Rivers and are also exploring opportunities to bring WildKind programs directly to schools, community groups and other suitable locations.
Our program prices vary depending on the adventure, location and length of the session. You'll find the price listed with each individual program when bookings open. We aim to keep our programs affordable and accessible for families, while providing high-quality outdoor experiences led by experienced educators.
We currently offer two WildKind programs designed for different ages and stages.
Nature Sprouts (3–5 years) focuses on imaginative nature play, storytelling, exploration and creating magical worlds outdoors, allowing little explorers to follow their curiosity and build confidence through play.
Adventurers (5–10 years) steps up the challenge with hands-on outdoor skills, team challenges, nature exploration, building, problem-solving and adventure-based activities designed to encourage independence, resilience and a willingness to give things a go.
Every adventure is a little different! Activities may include nature exploration, shelter building, fire lighting, basic tool skills, nature-based craft, bushwalking, teamwork challenges, games and other practical outdoor experiences all under supervision.
We believe part of the adventure is not knowing exactly what the day might bring.
No. While nature play and Bush Kindy principles are a big part of what we love, WildKind extends beyond traditional Bush Kindy. Our programs are fully immersed in the outdoors, fostering respect for nature, incorporating outdoor education, adventure, practical skills, creativity, teamwork and age-appropriate challenges. We cater to a wider range of ages through our program, not just the little ones.
We believe a little rain can be part of the adventure! Programs will generally continue in suitable wet weather, with activities adapted where necessary.
We monitor weather conditions and forecasts and will modify, relocate or cancel activities if conditions are considered unsafe, including severe storms, flooding, extreme heat or other significant weather events.
Outdoor adventure naturally involves some level of risk, and learning to recognise and manage appropriate risk is an important part of what we do.
Activities are planned, risk assessed and supervised by experienced staff. Children are given clear instructions, boundaries and support appropriate to the activity, their age and their abilities.
Our goal isn't to remove every challenge — it's to create an environment where children can experience challenge in a supported and considered way.
Stephen and Rhea also both hold Wilderness First Aid certificates and have extensive experience of dealing with first aid scenarios in an outdoor setting.
Toilets and drinking water are available and a sun safety station will be set up with water, sunscreen and spare hats.
Not at all! WildKind is about giving things a go.
Some children may already love getting muddy and exploring outdoors, while for others it may be completely new. We encourage children to participate at a level that feels appropriate for them and support them as they build confidence.
A full packing list will be provided before each program. Generally, children should arrive ready to be outdoors with comfortable clothing that can get dirty, enclosed shoes, a hat, water bottle, food, water shoes, weather-appropriate clothing and a spare change of clothes.
And yes — we recommend leaving the good clothes at home!
We want WildKind experiences to be as inclusive as reasonably possible. Our team has experience working with children and young people with a range of additional and special education needs.
Please let us know about your child's individual needs when enquiring or booking so we can discuss how we can best support their participation.
Parents and carers will be asked to provide relevant medical information before participation, including allergies, medications, asthma, anaphylaxis and other information that may affect their child's involvement.
Please provide us with as much relevant information as possible so our team can appropriately prepare for your child's participation.
We encourage children to have a go, but we don't believe adventure should be forced. Our facilitators support and encourage children while recognising that every child has different comfort levels.
Sometimes watching, asking questions or taking a smaller step towards a challenge can be an achievement in itself.
We're currently developing opportunities to bring WildKind experiences to schools, vacation care services, community organisations and other groups.
If you're interested in having WildKind come to you, we'd love to hear from you.
At WildKind, we believe children thrive when they are connected to nature, empowered to take healthy risks, free to lead their own imaginative play and encouraged to contribute meaningfully to their community.
In a world constantly competing for children's attention, quiet and unstructured moments are becoming harder to find. These are often the moments where imagination, curiosity and independent thinking begin. WildKind exists to create more of them.
Our educators are there to support and guide rather than provide every answer. We give children the time and space to explore their own ideas, make decisions, try, fail, adapt and experience the satisfaction of figuring something out for themselves.
Through connection with nature, child-led play, shared responsibility and meaningful contribution, we aim to nurture confident, resilient and compassionate children with a strong sense of belonging and respect for the world around them.
Because when children are given ownership of their experiences, they have the opportunity to connect, play, challenge themselves and grow.
