We both believe strongly in the power of the outdoors and the role it can play in all of our lives — especially for children growing up in an increasingly electronic world.
Throughout our years as outdoor education leaders, we’ve witnessed firsthand what happens when children step outside their comfort zones. The outdoors has a way of showing you just how capable you really are. Facing a challenge can feel frightening, messy and uncomfortable, but having the courage to give it a go can build confidence, resilience and a sense of achievement that stays with you.
We want to be a small part of the change we hope to see for future generations by bringing kids back to nature — where they belong.
Once upon a time, childhood meant running around barefoot, getting muddy, being bored enough to invent a game, exploring without needing to be entertained and simply being present in the moment. We want to bring a little of that childhood back to the kids in our community — giving them the space to connect, play, challenge themselves and grow.
